Could you share a few details about your R&P conversion?
-Which rack did you use
-What is the width between the inner tie rod ends (actual outer pivit points on the rack)
-Have you done a bump steer check through the range of suspension movement - if so what did you find?
-Lastly, how did you slolve the issue of routing the steering column to the rack itself? Multiple U joints - possibly support brackets as well? I'd love to see some pics.
Thanks, many would be curious as out old steering boxes are wearing and fo thos who drive on large sticky rubber, worn steering boxes which you can't buy parts for are becomeing a problem.

Yeah, what Byron said, also that is a cool mod to make brackets for the R&P, forgive my ignorance, but is that common way to do it or did you come up with that?

Well i have seen people mount the r&p to the crossmember. but i.ve also seen some horrific ways to do it. I was going for something different but by the time i finished cutting and welding i ended up with this. LOL! which if you have checked out the photobucket pix of my crossmember, i did a lot!!! of modifying to it. Since im using a vq and the tranny it sits lower the any KA or SR. So i shortened the Crossmember in the middle. Ill post pix up of that..
Since im using a 6 speed tranny i had to move the r&p more to the left to clear the tranny, so my left turns are slightly shorter then my right turns. only place that rubbed or hit was the tire to rear wheel well. Adjustable tension rods will correct that.
Parts used:
1985 toyota MR2 Rack & pinion
1985 toyota Cressida 2 Driver side tie rods
1971 Datsun 510 2 passenger side tie rod ends

What do you have as far as the "wiring" Have you done anything to the fuel take and such?
Do you have the wiring from the VQ? is it a hi rev? Check out Icehouse's CanAM box..

Gas lines are in. Used an inline external pump. Working in my front z2 brakes. Gonna rock the z1s for now. Just want it to run. But I have the stock wiring and Ecu. Just need to rearrange it. Cut and reprogram.
Re: VQ35DE in my Dime..Finally!!! Wiring anyone?
So,did you have to do the modding of the crossmember to get the center to be lower then the stock crossmember? Looks like you might need some protection on that sump. How far is the sump from the ground at your ride height? Looks like a rev up VQ. Mckinney (sp) last I heard was reprogramming ECU's to get rid of NATS like the guys in Florida. Reprograming wasn't very good price wise, about close to half to of what a stand alone is. I wonder what they do about the missing CAN buss so that it doesn't throw codes.
