Looks great. Jealous that you have a flat, hole free trunk floor.

What blue code?

Got the door hung on the car yesterday, still needs a bit of adjustment but it's close enough for now.

I'm glad you are planning to keep the color. Do you know the number?

Interesting... it looks more like 563 to my eye and according to this paint chart...
https://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/c ... atsun_1968

But I know computer screens don't render colors the same so hard to judge and seeing as you are painting it, I'm sure you've got the correct paint code.

I am trying to find pictures of cars with the paint codes referenced but it isn't easy. I'm leaning towards 604 Datsun Dark Blue or 115 Datsun Blue Metallic. I think my car was originally 110 Datsun Red so also considering that, but not sure I'm a red car guy...

Looking forward to seeing your car as it gets more fully painted.

Owen

Yeah, different screens can show colors differently. That chart is also for '68 models, so maybe they changed it a bit over the years.

Here's a pic of the color code stamped into the radiator support with the original paint.

Disassembled, polished, and reassembled the license plate lights with new bulbs and gaskets.

Cleaned up and painted the rear bumper brackets, then polished the bumper. Also bought some reproduction side marker lights from amazon and installed them, they don't look too bad. They do have the wrong wire connectors, but I'll just crimp on some original style bullet connectors.

Got a bunch of rubber plugs for all of the miscellaneous holes in the floor and cleaned up and painted the jack handle and trunk latch.

The fuel tank was pretty scratched up, so I sanded it down and threw some fresh paint on it.

Does anyone know where the larger (5/16") hose bib from the front of the fuel tank goes? The lower one (1/4") is the fuel feed to the engine I believe, but this larger one was plugged on my car when I removed it. There are two hard fuel lines running to the engine bay, one 1/4" one is the feed to the engine, and another 1/4" one which goes to one of the vent lines I believe. If you guys have any input, I'd appreciate it.

The upper one is for the return line.

Great progress. Did you polish the license light housings by hand or machine? I started mine by hand and think I’m going to grab something from harbor freight to speed up the process.

Thanks for all the pics, looks great.
