I saw your message. Can't quite tell from the photo where you have the outer end of the lap belt harness attached. Looks like it may be too far forward to be effective across the pelvis.

Asking because I just installed mine today as well, but as I showed in the other thread, I mounted the reel in a newly added rear nut plate and used the forward stock nut location for the lap belt end.

It sits further back. It wasn't attached there. I used the outer hole to the seat bracket. I can move it. But I really don't wanna make another hole. But if I have to correct it then I will. Thanks.

So quick update I changed the mounting location to the retractor. I used the stock location where the retractor was for the lose end to the belt. I move the retract right behind the stock location and used the supplied L bracket and hardware to mount it in place. Worked out great. I will post photos soon. On another not I wasn't able to drop of the car either for the cam install. As Ive picked up a bug my kids got from school. Thanks god its not C19 but dang this year my kids have got sick twice already . No dam breaks.

Hey Datsun folks I want to add a manual trunk release lever and cable to my car. Has anyone done this here on the Realm? I seen one guy on IG who did it using a s14 parts which was super cool cause he also made his gas door pop open. Only thing is its to involved for what I wanna do. I also don't have a gas door in my car it was shaved of by PO. Any how I ordered a universal Lokar setup from Summit racing. Wish me luck, but if you have some info on this please chime in. I did a search and came up with nothing. Thanks

I did an electronic release (viewtopic.php?p=286719#p286719). Most of it should be applicable to a full manual release too. The hardest thing is drilling the catch mechanism (case hardened) to attach the pull cable to. I had to use a carbide drill.

Thanks Stu! I like the way you ran the cable also. Give me some direction on how to go about mine. Sent you a PM Stu. Think I was going about attaching the cable to the wrong part.

And we are off to my buddy shop for Jim Wolf S3HL cam install. Then right to the dyno on Tuesday. Finally getting a tune so I can actually drive my car. Ive owned it for 8 years and after getting the motor fired up and running I've only driven the car up the drive way on the base tune.

Thanks man.. Still far from done but pretty close. Needs door cards, front bumper and front valance painted. And I will be satisfied for a while.

I also forgot to mention I installed the rear section of the carpet. It didn't come out exactly as I wanted but its good enough for not having any experience with this sort of thing. I used this Siless underlay liner over the sound deader. The reviews on the product were pretty good but I was not happy with it. Needless to say it did what it was supposed to do. I think I would have had an easier time with the carpet had I ran the wiring a little different. Here's a photo of the liner and of the finished rear section. sorry for the tool mess lol.
