Hi guys,
does anybody here have the Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust with stock headers and no other big modifications?
The background of my question: I live in Germany and need an exhaust, as the old exhaust is a complete patchwork.
To register the car I need technical inspection first and for technical inspection I can only use an original exhaust (no way to source this in Europe) or an aftermarket copy with identical dimensions and mufflers as the original part.
The aftermarket copy has to pass an noise test though, which costs around 500€ for each try.
The only aftermarket exhaust I could find/source, that is similar to an original one, is the Fujitsubo Legalis R.
For this I find following noise levels / dB:
- Idling Sound: 71
- Noise Near exhaust (4500rpm): 90
- 3000rpm: 83
- 5000rpm: 95
- Response 4000rpm~6000rpm: 103
But this is all "near exhaust", this is not how the technical inspection checks it.
There you have to accelerate full throttle over a distance of I think 20m/60ft in 2nd or 3rd gear from 50kph/30mph.
The measurement takes place from the sidewalk.
I believe for this model year the value has to be below 85dB
Is there anybody that could roughly replicate this for me?
Or do you have other suggestions for "stock-ish" header-back exhausts?
I just want to avoid spending four figures for an exhaust plus maybe an noise test if that doesn't work.
Thanks!
PS: I should add, that my car has an L14 engine, so maybe it's already a little bit quieter than an L16?

I may know of an NOS exhaust for a 510 in the UK. I'll reach out to them and get back to you. PM me if you don't hear back...

If the part numbers are correct then yes they have one:
It's up north, I'm down south. About 300 miles each way. They didn't seem keen on shipping it but if you're not in a desperate rush I'll be up that way in a few weeks so can check it out and purchase it on your behalf and arrange shipping.
