No problem buddy! Maybe you will swap one next. I want to run 12lbs of boost and have 400hp :)

Got one valve cover done. Paul was cutting filler plates and I was laying down some decent beads. I'm not a robot tig welder like Rob510 but hopefully it will keep the oil in the top end.

Although we have a trans adapter kit in the racecar I still want to try my own. I want to run a D21 71C because last weekend at pick and pull there was 5 2wd 5 speeds there. So I'm going to space the clutch splines make a thin steel trans adapter and machine the bell WAY down. I printed the spacers just to check clearances.

I'm also following with great interest in this conversion.
Would love to be able to replicate this swap into a RHD 510 with a 71C gearbox, too.
Watching with interest, excellent work, as usual!

I think RHD would be a little more work since the exhaust is on that side. Although the swap is about 5 zillon times more work then a SR I guess one more step isn't a big deal. Me and Paul have 3 K swaps in progress. The main one in our racecar then we each want to do one in our personal rigs. After we figure it out we are going to move onto our cars. We are looking into the toyota R155 transmission. Strong, cheapish, 5 speed which it turns out I like more then a 6 speed. It's a top loader and the bell unbolts. Anyways. we got the clutch for it, RX8 pressure plate and a 240sx disk. Not sure if we mentioned it earlier but we bought an adapter kit. Also got the intake modified and the exhaust manifold. The exhaust is off a S2K with a K24 flange welded on. Then fattened on the belt sander at work. Lastly we bought some chinese stainless exhaust pipe. A ton with V-bands and a flexy guy in 3" for 225 shipped. The amount of stress testing our car does I didn't want to invest in the super expensive SS. Getting closer.

Thanks for the detailed update, that's fantastic....looking great.

Yes, RHD would be a bit more challenging...F20/22C's are also a bit of an issue, not to mention various cool engines like EcoBoost's, Duratec's, rotaries, and the like, for our RHD 510s.

Maybe you could consider making "just one more", RHD, Version 3 R&P cross member and steering arm kit....it would help a lot.... :)

Updates on the K24 swap. We brought the goodie K24 over to my place so we can start putting all the figured out goodies on it. Get it ready to test fire. Of coarse the best rig ever hauled it.

Look how clean the inside is!!! Outside looks like it's been in the ocean haha. I mean I guess it makes sense. All the cars they came in were automatic nerd cars. Not drift cars like the SR was in.

All dressed up with the trans adapter and factory idler to delete the power steering pump.

No. We spent a lot of time working to make an adapter kit for the 71C trans but there was no way to make an affordable option that would for sure be reliable in an endurance race car. If we swapped to a different transmission it would be possible but the down side to that is all our spares would be useless. So we just bought this kit last year on sale on Black Friday haha. So it took us a year to use it haha.

How heavy are those super thick flywheels that come with these kits? Seems like it would be detrimental to performance and longevity with all of that weight hanging off the end of the crank.
Rear Wheel Drive, The way God Intended.
If a car is being pulled from the front, doesn't that mean it's being towed?

Super light. Aluminum and the back is all carved out.

No I just felt it and wished it was heavier. I personally don't like lightened flywheels. They make it harder to drive for no reason for me. I don't race in any class that have rules where I need every little pit of a edge.
