Door/window disassembly

Post by redvx1 »

Are there any write-ups or photos out there about the sequence for complete disassembly of the doors in prep for paint?
I suppose I could just start pulling it apart but there's a lot of moving pieces and would prefer to do so in the right order without compromising the glass. I will be replacing the window channel felt and weatherstripping.

Thanks,
Curt

Take out the glass first. The outer belt molding must be removed to extract the glass (after removing door inner trim, etc). Watch for the washers on the glass mounts, and that funky clip holding it the glass to the regulator. Take the regulator out next. Then the lower window channels front and back. Door release lever and latch next.

That's all I can remember. I put mine together about last July after acquiring the car with them apart. Had to figure out the puzzle, but not too difficult.
