Getting back on the road need some help with parts 🙏

Post by Cromenpaint »

1 - brake upgrade What should I use these days without spending to much? Do you really need rear disc brakes
2- Distributor vacuum advance? I been seeing pictures and videos of other methods can someone point me direction of the best way to do this?

Thanks for the help guys

1/ Easiest/cheapest is a set of performance brake pads. These may also wear the rotors faster but they will stop you faster.

No you definitely do not need rear disc brakes. Disc brakes are nice to have for their almost no maintenance and ease of replacement and zero adjusting. They are also much more fade resistant but you are never going to drive so hard the brake fade is a problem.

2/ The 510 distributor has vacuum advance so just leave it. Vacuum advance is only present at part throttle and from a performance perspective it's at zero and has no effect.
