Where to buy Strut Inserts?

Post by rnorrish »

I'm looking for a local shop to buy a set of strut inserts... any one in Vancouver care to suggest somewhere? Overseas (bought my Konis there last time)? Specialty Engineering? PDM? Lordco?!?

Anyone have anything bad (or good) to say about Tokico Illuminas? Or should I just stick with Koni?

Thanks!

For what it's worth, I have Illumina's in my GTS (front only), with my #300 lbs springs. The shocks now have 200,000 KM on them and still sem to be ok. I run them on the #4 setting, with #5 being the hardest I think. Bump/rebound seems reasonable, but, it's hard to compare to the 510 as the Toyota actually needs stiffer springs. All in all, I have been happy with them.

Richard, I purchased my KYB GR-2 shocks from Specialty, they should be able to get you most anything that's still available.

Well, they'll be the MR2 rear ones... they should be available, and what part number won't matter to Tracey.

I got my shocks from Specialty. I think the Illuminas are NLA for the Toyota now.
