No it's an r180 with wolf creek racing axle kit. Hopefully it's

Is your WCR CV kit shorter to use the R180 diff (R180 is 1 inch wider than the R160), or is it the same length as the kit he sells for the R160 diffed 510s? Hopefully the cv joint and axle will be ok, keeping fingers crossed.

What hp and tq numbers is your FJ putting to the wheels?

Your video showed 510s in the 11s and 12s. Impressive stuff.

Impressve power!

If you have the cv out, can you measure the axle length and post?
Ideally, the length of just the axle, but if you weren't planning the pull the spacers, maybe just measure outer cv to outer cv to outer cv when joint is fully compressed, or outer alum spacere to outer alum spacer when fully compressed.
Do you safety wire your cv bolts?
Thanks!

All the same, that's some overenginnering on Datsun's part! 4x the torque and drag strip launches (how many?) is what it took to kill a 40-year-old stub!!

Cheers Mate..

Fully compressed outer cv to outer cv is approx 13.5 inches on both sides (for R180) Left side is shorter slightly shorter.
I personally just use loctite thread locker and check them regularly.

To be honest i was amazed that the stub axles have lasted so long with this much torque put through them and over 100 passes
over the years that i have driven the car. They are the fuse in the rear end so to speak.

Thanks for the measurements. IIRC, the spacers are about 1" thick, so they add a total of another 2".
That stub (what is left of it) looks nasty!
You are lucky it didn't take out the moustache bar mount or bodywork, which it might have done had it completely let go. Are you upgrading stubs or just bolting another stock stub in?

Yes I was lucky it was on the start line and not half track at 100mph
For now I'm changing to another second hand R180 and stub axle to
get the car going. When I save up enough, I will upgrade to an
R200 which has bigger stub axles
