Re: WTB 510 header

Is there one cast iron exhaust manifold that is better than the rest? I heard there is. ice D From what I have found, here in the USA, the 68-73 510 had at least three different exhaust manifolds over the years. One has air injection ports at the top of each primary = 4 ports. These are fine & ...

Re: WTB: Oil Pan

Hello there, I need a 510 oil pan, one that keeps oil inside. If yours leaks it's likely from over tightening the bolts (naturally I don't mean you) to stop it leaking which distorts the holes into a dimple. It pinches the gasket only around the holes and leads to more tightening with little effect...

Re: Stock Flywheel vs. Fidanza Aluminum for Turbo L20B

I think the 240mm flywheel was only in the 260/280Z 2+2...........NOT the 2seat coupes, thus NOT the 240Z. That said, you would need to buy a 2+2 240mm clutch AND have the correct throw out bearing sleeve!

Re: WTB - 2 Door or 4 Door 510 - New England/East Coast - $8000

As you know, all I can say is buy a car FROM a dry state or buy a car you FIND in a dry state & have shipped! I grew up on east coast & spend 22 years in SW Michigan, now in Denver! I did just buy a 510 2dr that I had found about 18 years ago, when I lived in Michigan. The guy had patched it...

Re: WTB dogleg 5 speed FS5W63A transmission from 200sx

If in fact the "kits" are NLA NLS, you should be able to find the bearings individually, by the part # stamped on them. The seals should also have a part # (or dimensions) cast into them. We often go this route for other classic car trans parts! I know, a pain to wait until disassembled, b...

Re: Engine Bay (and other) Wiring Help?

The FSM diagrams are very difficult to read & I think broken up on different pages, making it even worse! Paolo marked all of his diagrams & I think marked as copyrighted too..........?? Regardless, as mentioned before, I bought his complete set, cuz I mess with so many 510's! Example..........

Re: Wagon rear turn signals not working.

Cool! All single filament bulbs have one function........I would bet the top single is turnsignal & bottom is reverse? All double filament bulbs have two functions.........bet this is running light & brake light. Swapping in a 5spd would not effect any "lighting" except the reverse...

Re: 510 Windshield Wiper help

Thanks Yenpit, I picked up an integra motor and hope to wire it based on this thread: http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=29550&start=15 Someone did the work and documented it and my motor looks the same. I'll try to follow it and cross my fingers that the wiring is the same. No...

Re: Wagon rear turn signals not working.

So many of these old Datsun's have been badly repaired over the years. Always remember that these old Datsun's are "switch to ground", unlike most other cars that are "switch to power"...............this is where an inexperienced mechanic can really botch up repairs! There are tw...

If you are using a stock style NEW seal that takes the stainless trim, you MUST install the stainless trim in place BEFORE installing the glass! If not, you will likely struggle getting it in the rubber seal after installing the glass!

Re: 510 Windshield Wiper help

Likely the wiper wheelboxes (pivots) are seized up. I have learned to use my small Dremel cut off disc, very carefully slice down one side of the tiny 8mm nuts, then twist off. If you "attempt" to get the nuts off as is, you will likely twist the tiny threaded stud, or you will just break ...

Re: WTB:::L20b timing cover

russaroll & I just went thru this. By UN-cut, if somebody has a timing cover off of a stock UN-modified L20B, the top edge of the timing cover should not be cut. Any time an engine is built to the hilt, the block is sometimes "decked" & the top of the timing cover must also be &quo...

Re: Headliner pictures

There are Chinese made front windshields...........that is all I am aware of. I usually buy 4-5 at a time, but I DO NOT SHIP cuz glass is a major issue, even if in a crate! We have a nat'l glass wholesale franchise here in Denver called Mygrant Glass. Here, they only sell to glass shops............I...
