Re: Donate to The 510 Realm

I feel the same way. Given the opportunity, I would take it over in a heartbeat, if only to ensure it remains available as a resource. I owned an active forum for many years until social media all but killed it off. Online communities are a very tough (and potentially pricey) gig, but when their mai...

Re: Donate to The 510 Realm

The Realm is an invaluable resource for us 510 people. I'd be happy to make a donation again. It'd be especially nice if we could muster enough for some more reliable, faster hosting that doesn't 5XX error all the time.

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

I just looked at the pump I bought. It is indeed the pump you mentioned.

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

Interesting! I didn't know that, thanks! If I have any hiccups with this pump, I'll look into that type.

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

Dang it, I forgot. Lol! Idle pressure is now consistently at about 20#, though.

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

I have to go to town today, so I'll take the 510 and make a note of the pressure & get back to you.

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

I don’t think I’m quite understanding where to check. Would it be at the block/head mating surface just in front of where the dipstick is? Would i possibly see oil on the side of the block in that area?

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

Thanks, Rob. Pretty frustrating. 😖

I'll check those closely, Keith, thanks! I didn't get a chance to change the pump this afternoon; I spent the entire day doing a disk brake conversion & A arm swap on my husband's 70 Duster. What a job.

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

You're so right, the leak blows oil all over everything so I can't seem to track it down. I have an undercarriage washer for my power washer & I used that but again, I couldn't tell where the leak was after a drive. My dipstick is a bit loose (the tube, not the stick itself). I put a wrap of ele...

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

I agree. I had around 40-50# driving with the original oil pump. Will this higher pressure cause issues?

Oh, and my car is still leaking like crazy. I have no idea where it is coming from at this point. It's the passenger rear of the engine.

Re: Oilpan Replacement Questions

Well, unfortunately, it didn't work. I was able to maneuver the bar out of the way enough to move the pan around quite a bit, though, which allowed me to remove the old gasket, clean the block and pan surfaces and slither a new gasket around the oil pickup in the pan; all without getting it all oily...
