Simplest Map Light Mod Ever!
I wanted the map light in my car to work for no particular reason other than the panel being there and doing nothing. Here's the simplest map light mod on the planet! And it's 3 bucks! Ready? It's a 12v 5050 SMD stuck to the inside of the bezel above the map light panel. That's it. Wire it to power ...

That sure would have been quicker! Lol! I remember you mentioning that you had some made but it didn't even occur to me.

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
Thanks! I figured it slid out of the old tool box and when I couldn't find it anywhere around there, any of the times I'd looked, there was only one place I hadn't checked; IN the wall, through that tiny gap. As unlikely as it was, my search really wasn't complete until I could look inside there. I ...

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
So, remember how I lost my VIN plate about 11 years ago? Found it! https://youtube.com/shorts/Q-sARqJBHz8?feature=share I bought an endoscope that connects to my phone & decided to take a look inside the course of block at the base of my garage. Lo and behold! There it is!! Now, to figure out ho...

Re: Installing headliner without rear pillar interior vents -- issues?
When I made my headliner, I just didn't have the heart to cut the pillars for the vents. It's been 2 years & no issues so far.

Thanks IM!
Yikes, they seem pretty proud of those! I bought a set from a Nissan dealer online. They were $14 for the set so I think it's worth that to have to proper ones.

Re: Rear Crank Seal Question
Really?? I didn't know that! The ones that have always been in there are regular grade 8 bolts so that's what I replaced them with. I will order the proper ones, thank you for letting me know and the part numbers!

Re: Rear Crank Seal Question
Good news to finish this out: No more leaks! We had an unseasonably warm day here on the frozen tundra (50º!) so I started the Datsun, pulled it out of the garage & took a few runs down the driveway and back. Not a drop leaked! I'm so glad! Also, while I was taking the car apart for the repair, ...

Thanks! I'm glad it's not just me. Not that I want anyone else to struggle but now I know it's not my Starlink or something weird.

Re: And it's back!
I'm constantly getting the Resource Limit Reached error and it takes at least one minute to load anything no matter what I click.

Re: Rear Crank Seal Question
Ah! Ok. I actually bought a set of those but I didn't know what they were called. Pilot & release are new, thankfully. Progress report: Seal, flywheel, clutch, slave, and tranny are all back in, and oil pan L dealies are installed. I just need to put the driveshaft back in, and fill the transmis...

Re: Rear Crank Seal Question
Is the engine plate the 2 sheetmetal-like dividers between the engine & tranny? Those are there. About the pan gasket, I couldn't really tell if it's the problem but I bought those steel L shaped pieces that are supposed to support any waviness in the pan caused by the bolts so I'm going to inst...

Re: Rear Crank Seal Question
Well, I finally started on this dreaded project yesterday. Dropping the tranny is such a nightmare alone & this is my 2nd time doing it. Yuck. I just got it out yesterday & today I'll take the clutch & flywheel off and have a look at the leak situation. I really hope I can repair it in p...
