Re:
Something similar happened to mine... Take off the door pannel. There is a rod that goes verticaly and connects from the door handle itself to the lock mechanism. At the bottom it has a little plastic tan nut adjuster. I had to turn it clockwise (make it go up) abut 1/4" then when I shut the d...

Re: Ford vs Ferrari Film
I really enjoyed the movie, except for a few bits that grated. Flat knacker down the straight, looking across to the other car and then putting the foot down to get ahead... really? Besides the silly accommodations made for storytelling, it was very entertaining. The sound design, particularly, made...

Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability
Went out to Pilkington in Long Island today and picked the windshields up. Right off the bat, the light blue tint is really dense. Not sure how I feel about it yet. They're good quality, made in Finland, 6mm thick measured in the middle at the top. I took a very unscientific reading of the density o...

Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability
A quick update- I called Pilkington Classics directly, and was able to get two windshields shipped to the Pilkington warehouse closest to me (Long Island NY) for $450. Got a call yesterday that they’re ready to be picked up. Definitely a MUCH better deal than buying from Summit. I’ll post some pics ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxqyycAOSGo Thanks Rob- This was fascinating! We have a babysitter who is in the Formula SAE program at Columbia, and I often chat about the car's development with her. Can't wait to bring this up next time she's around. Now, how to bring a variable inlet manifold to...

Re: list of all nuts and bolt sizes for a 510 ?????
Last year I bought a bunch of bolts from Overland Metric. They're set up to provide complete kits for Toyota FJ40's.
If you can live without the distinctive head stampings on the Datsun bolts, they do the job nicely. No more hardware store fasteners with oversize heads!

Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability
I ordered one when the news arrived that Summit Racing was going to have them. I got onto a backorder list, and sat on it until today. Just got an email from Summit telling me they’re no longer available. Bollocks, I even went to the trouble of getting a new Datsport seal in anticipation... How many...

Re: Tach circuit board replacement
Thinking back, it would’ve been massively easier to swap the guts out of a modern tach; Bosch makes some inexpensive stepper driven 250° sweep 8K rpm tachs. I think the only reason I got so far down this rabbit hole is because I had a few too many nights to myself with my wife away on work trips... ...

Re: Tach circuit board replacement
Before I go making promises I won’t be able to keep, let’s see how this one works once it’s reinstalled!
Regarding Yenpit’s suggestion (thank you!)- does anyone know if the speedo lens will work in the tach housing??

Adding images is killing me - I click preview so I can make sure they make sense in the order I insert them, and then they become unavailable!

Tach circuit board replacement
Last year I installed a 123ignition distributor in my 510, and soon discovered that the tach didn't work with it. A bunch of reading followed, and I was faced with either replacing the internals with those of a more recent tach, or getting a third party adaptor. Since the car is tucked away for wint...

FS: Rebuilt Mikuni 44's on Mikuni short manifold $2000
These carbs were rebuilt and set up in July 2018 by Dave Premo, and were briefly installed on my 510.They worked flawlessly with my LZ22 engine. A couple of months after I finished the engine build, Dave called me to let me know that he'd found me a pair of Nismo 44's on an original Datsun Comp mani...
