Re: 72 Ultra Orange - Bucket List Restomod

just tap it deeper. Shlammed, thank you for the feedback - these are pipe threads and they lock very quickly 3-4 turns. Not sure how many turns I could force without really creating an issue with the port on the block. oh, no i mean get out the 1/2" npt tap and put it in the block.... its a ta...

SOLVED - Turbo Oil Drain Fitting Clearance with JBC R&P conversion

Thanks everyone for all the recommendations!!! After spending much of this week trying to find parts to fix this, and not resorting to a tap yet — but did order them!! I have found a 45 degree 1/2 NPT to AN10 adapter to try — getting it clocked correctly has been my biggest concern. I did disassembl...

Re: SR20DET Turbo Oil Drain fitting & JBC Coachwerks R&P Interference

I just take the stock drain and cut it and weld it back together with a 45 in it. I'll see if I can find a picture. Just mark the top before you unscrew it. Icehouse, thanks for the feedback - that would be feasible and had connected with someone else who did this; but my turbo hoses have AN fittin...

SR20DET Turbo Oil Drain fitting & JBC Coachwerks R&P Interference

510 Realm experts—- Anyone that has done an SR swap with the JBC R&P setup - do you have a recommended fitting for the turbo oil drain on the block side? No clearance in this area with the R&P knuckle in the way. Ultimately this will need to be on a swivel fitting with an AN10 On the turbo d...

Fun times and the Datsun is back underway!

Long time since last post … I finally realized that this project was not going to get finished without a better space to finish it!! And a little thing happened — I started driving track 😎 … all of this has distracted me from focusing on my 510… I built a new garage and now have the Datsun where I c...

Re: 72 Ultra Orange - Bucket List Restomod

You are making some good progress. I expect my engine to be ready for pickup when I get back from vacation in a week. I have been picking away at a bunch of little things that need doing, but never really make me feel like I am making progress even after many hours of work. Very interesting that yo...

Incremental Progress Update - Exhaust Wrap, Lighting, Coil Packs

Incremental Progress update — got a few things done over the past few weeks. I decided to Cerakote the downpipe and turbo housing and wrap all of it due to heat in proximity to the master cylinders and fender wells. Had some of the trim work powder coated, installed the coil packs and started workin...

Re: 72 Ultra Orange - Bucket List Restomod

Wow that looks great. I thought putting the SR20DE was a tight fit in some places but, wooo-weee, that turbo system is packed and stacked. Going to be a monster. Stu, thank you. Making some incremental progress; and as you know, everything is a science project - sometimes it works, and sometimes it...

Let’s BOOST!

Focusing on getting the plumbing for the turbo sorted — the water inlet / return and oil feed / drain. All of these connect to the block or to the water outlet from the block to the radiator. These will need to be oriented around the exhaust manifold and shielded from heat. Having Mazworx make these...

Re: 72 Ultra Orange - Bucket List Restomod

Very nice work. Happy New Year! Ron - Happy New Year… Thank you! Incremental progress! The build is looking amazing... I've got to go through your whole thread again soon as I push forward with mine. I considered the DP racing pedal setup... but mine is in perfect condition and was powder coated by...
