I went over to my garage yesterday, to make sure my lights were still on. Outside temp was -14 C in South Surrey.

As you can see, the upper temp of 37 F. is the exhaust temp, so the pipe temp sensor is low in the engine bay, whereas the green temp number, 42 F. is at the airbox intake, so higher up in the engine bay. Perfect considering how cold the garage actually was. Down by my water spray bottle, inside the car, the temp was in the 50's, so again perfect.

Cold again here in White Rock, was -12 when I got up at 6 Am. Cool looking fog/mist coming off the water this morning.

My resident Hummingbirds were here at the crack of dawn, I make a super, sugar loaded solution for them..kinda like "crack" for the birds!

Stay warm everyone!

Pretty cold in Victoria as well - not as cold as the lower mainland but minus 3 to 5C the last few days. Very thankful for my heated garage. Working out there is a pleasure and the cars stay warm and dry.

Our humming bird feeders are always busy, especially in these rare freezing times. Be careful on supercharging the sugar levels - apparently anything denser than 1 part sugar to 4 parts water is hard on their livers (like screech to humans I suppose :^).

Morning Owen,

Sure...heated garage....rub it in.....

Good point on Hummingbird "juice", will monitor that.

As we are one of the last treed lots in White Rock, our yard is a sanctuary for wildlife, so many song birds, raccoons, and of course the varieties of Hummingbirds. I had a beautiful hawk right in front of our window yesterday.

Was -9 this morning, about 0 now in the sun. More snow tonight they are predicting.

Sure glad I wisely bought snow tires for my Honda van this year, worth their weight in gold these past few days.

Morning World!

Another snowfall last night, I measured 6" at my place.

I have been very fortunate to live where I do, being a "land caretaker" for 44 years now, in this house.

Here are a couple of pics from this morning, that is Blaine, U.S.A. across the water.

Going to pop by garage today and check out the 510, make sure all is good.

Started the installation of my Tanks Inc. internal fuel pump. A pretty slick device. I'm stalled now as I decided that I will also replace the fuel level sender rather than try to bend the original sender around the placement of the in tank pump. Tanks has a nice sender unit so that should arrive on Tuesday.

Hi all! Happy New Year!

I haven't been on the realm for a while but hoping to connect/ reconnect with some old and new members. This is what I did to my wagon. Added a cigarette lighter socket and made a cell phone holder.

Hoping to add more or contribute more in the near future.

Found the roller bearing for my passenger seat rail and reinstalled. Seat moves forward and back smoother and just feels complete.

Yes indeed! These will get installed after I sort out an electrical issue that is popping my 20a main fuse. I believe I've tracked it to a faulty regulator in the alternator. And yes, they are 42mm. I plan on retaining my stock fuel line, choke cables, throttle linkage, and also figuring out how to use my fuel return line as well (that one may be a bit tricky).

https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/669202612

Friday was my monthly start up, where outside temps were around 6C. I had put some lights in the engine bay, one of which shone directly into my fuel system distribution. I just turned the key and it lit right off in a blink.

My family had given me a new "point and shoot" if you will but it does do 4k video and has a true non digital zoom lens which is very impressive for a camera this size. This was my first attempt at just a quick video, give you an idea from the drivers perspective.

You can hear the "rattle" from the forged pistons when cold. When I was doing Solo I had to make sure I really warmed the engine up well before pre-grid call.

I hope this link works, I forgot I had the RX-7 chase down at Mission Raceway and that my account on Vimeo was still active. Vimeo sure is easier now than when I first started with it. Upload took all of 12 seconds. Not a big file anyhow. Wow, is old video footage crappy, how far we have come.

Nice , I ordered a set of 45s last week for my L28 in the Z but I wont be able to test them for a few months as one it's middle of winter and i'm doing a number of other upgrades to the car

If i like them I might be interested of getting a set for my L2.3 so please keep us informed of your progress I wan to hear about your experiences with these and I'll gladly share mine

I dont have that issue with the Z since I have a a fuel rail with return but if I did I would simply use a low pressure regulator (these carbs want to see around 3psi) with a return line
easy and simple
Something like this
