Prkgress looks good.

With the removal of the OE pedal box, how will you supply the steering column?

I've installed a few of these types of pedal boxes, but always incorperated them into a roll cage, a couple of those have retained the stock dash.

Look forward to the completed job, nice work so far - certainly keep us posted on the progress.

I was thinking along these lines for the mount http://store.garagistic.com/ocart/e30-b ... rake-setup

However I found out Tilton is now making this http://tiltonracing.com/product/600-ser ... -assembly/

It never ends. Some times I feel like Bruce Willis in Pulp fiction when he is going through the pawn shop looking for the perfect tool to get revenge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmKju-x8nnM Except in this case its the thought of there is a better way and or ?

Damn, I'd forgotten that scene... Good laugh.

The underfoot pedal boxes have been around in some form since the dawn of rear engine Indy cars. However the feel is something to get used to. I've rarely seen a set used in a sedan, especially a street car because it's difficult to get them under the floor but out of harms way under the car. Certainly it can be done, but in a sedan where you are not lying horizontal, the positions do become difficult.

Interesting thinking though, and thanks for the Pulp reference :-)

The new design of underfoot pedals are placed on the floor not under the floor. There is a heel plate that has to be fabricated to protect the masters. http://www.competitionsupplies.com/brak ... l-assembly This set up seems to be more prevalent in the rally circuit. I would think it would be like driving an early 911 or type 3 for pedal feel. At least that is from my personal experience. Sadly I spend a ton of time in my truck driving from job to job thinking about projects and or product design with limited time to actually do anything about it.

VVL head conversion - bullet proof but will not fit under the hood. Cost of dry sump, new crossmember and ECU puts this out of my reach.

Are you talking P11 and P12 VVL heads won't clear the hood? The P12 valve cover is taller for the coilpacks. I've seen the blue VVL 510 and it seems to fit fine in that car.

I seem to remember the blue car has the motor sitting very low. I was able to get the dimensions of a P12 head with valve cover someplace the P11 is a little lower. My thoughts were to purchase a P12 motor Remove all the essential parts required. The one thing I have seen on all these swaps is to change the valve seals. Probably not a bad idea for any sr swap at this point.
