This is the only screw hole location I can find anywhere near the left C pillar area. It seems a bit far away, but not many other locations would have been accessible for assembly. I don't suspect the body ground went to the underside of the rear shelf area.
Still looking for any conformation of factory rear defroster ground location from anyone that can provide it. Otherwise, I may use this spot to test.
Thanks.

Re: 73 harness routing
I will check for you this morning, going to my 510 to check a few things out.
I know the rear package shelf makes for a good ground too, as I ground my rear mounted battery there, will show some pictures. I ran a tap through the blind nut, to clean out any paint, etc, and have never had a problem.
Any time I have used a body panel to ground something, given proper cleaning to bare metal is done, no issues.

Re: 73 harness routing
Here are two pics of the ground wire for window and ground for battery.
The yellow wire was my re-do of fuel gauge wire.
Hope that helps.

Re: 73 harness routing
Thanks so much Keith! Just the confirmation I was looking for.
What is that other harness going left-right that the yellow wire branches off from? I don't have any wiring in that area. All the trunk stuff is on the right side (I don't have any speakers at the moment).
Thanks for the idea also of using those weld nuts for the battery cable ground.

Re: 73 harness routing
Hey Mike, or anyone who has the info. I need the mounting location of those rear seat clips (probably best noted from the end of that raised rail, or alternatively from the centerline of the tunnel, likely doesn't need to be that perfect). Mine were missing and I think the holes may have been filled, or I didn't realize what they were and put sound deadening material over them.

My interior is finally almost to the stage in Mike's pictures.

Re: 73 harness routing
Sorry, I did see your note but have been away.
Long story short...with the wiring harness in the trunk.
In 1977 I had a 1972 sedan that got wrecked. As far as I can remember, and only have a quick note in my log book, the 1972 harness was on the other side of the car, which of course lined up with the tail light plugs. As all my 1972 lights were in good shape and chrome trim painted, I used my 1972 light set into the 1973, which of course then had me dragging the wiring harness to the other side of the car. Simple as that.
