What friggin' type of Steering Wheel is this?!?

Post by loungin112 »

This has been bugging me for years. I can't figure out what brand this is. There are no other markings on the wheel except the crown.

Anyone know what type of steering wheel this is?

Sorry...can't upload the HEIC file. So I'll describe it instead: Single 5 point crown

Might it be an Italian-made "Personal" wheel?

I thought "personal". Do you know if "personal", at one time, used a 5 point crown instead of their current 3 point crown?

hehehe, bad joke.

We need Jim Hilton from Overseas Auto to chime in - if anyone would know what brand that wheel is, it would be him; I sent him a PM to get him to see this thread.

thats a momo pattern. the momo pattern had holes at the 12 and 6 position, where as the nardi/personal had holes at the 3 and 6 position. The circle is smaller in the momo

i was pretty sure it was "personal" as well-- sure it is no longer made and it was probably private label of some other wheel manufacturer.

like Lecarra wood wheels are made in england by someone else--

i like momo the most-- i have had the same one in my car since the 80's and it probably came from Jim then at Overseas

It's a Personal wheel. The exact same wheel came in my 510 when I originally purchased it and it included the Personal horn button. Same bolt hole orientation with the Nardi/Personal pcd.

Putting this mystery to bed may be a little thing, but it has bugged me for a while. It now bugs me no more!
