THANK YOU FOR POSTING THAT!!!

The closet I ever came to a Can-Am car was when David Saville Peck brought his car to our local hillclimb
and once to our Westwood race track..

What a monster it was. We did get the Trans-Am series here.

Thanks again, I am going to Chrome cast to my TV, pull out a pot of coffee and enjoy!!!

Again, Thanks!

As I read some of the comments on YouTube, those that lived in California really lived the Motorsport dream of events.

I'm pretty sure I have a picture or two of David's car.

For us here in Vancouver, at the heyday of Westwood, our local track, we had some of the Trans-Am cars come and the professional open wheeled cars. Then the track closed and we will never see those types of races ever again at the dinky little facility we have here now.

For us at Specialty, we would go south to Portland, now a 5 -6 hour drive, to watch the IMSA series, monster cars they were at the time. We could not believe the power they were making, exiting Turn 9 onto the straight and paving 2 lines of rubber through two gear changes, crazy!

https://biblio.sg/book/george-eaton-fiv ... 1148838751

Hard to even find now, but a good book about our CDN driver, George Eaton in the Can-Am series. I'm not sure if I still have my copy.

"Eaton raced in the Can-Am series in 1968, 1969 and 1970. He was the top Canadian in the Can-Am Series in 1969. He participated in the Canadian Formula A series in 1969 and the Continental Series in 1969 and 1971 but retired from racing after 1972.[1] He was inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame in 1994, and received an honorary doctor of laws degree from St Francis Xavier University at a special convocation in April 1996."

I sometimes feel, I could just live in front of the TV for a week just watching all the wonderful old racing documentaries of the time. Think of the South Park episode where Kartman is playing video games......

I will be watching this tonight for sure.

Think i recognize John Knepp in the red jacket. I have an old Electramotive t-shirt like the guy at the right front of the car.
Yeah, reading the comments under the videos is a good bonus most of the times.

1994 at Anderstorp in Sweden i went to watch an event called oldtimer grand prix, a vintage race. A few Can-Am cars was there. I talked to the McLaren guy's, they said the unequal air horn length was so they should not steal air from each other.

Peter Revson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDcbxGhosPk
Jim Hall. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... ew+series+
1974 IROC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOvFEBkLXbA
And as the Turbo guy you are, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-20J3U7f-o and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HJr4rFdnwg
One last, George Eaton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwxUaldyltM

You can sit more than a week to watch all the good stuff out there, but don't, take one at the time now and then.

Reminiscent of the boulder rolling up on the ridge with Jamie & Keith and the rest of that crew, good times.

That is funny!

I loved the comment..; "Greta will be mad!"

Here is a blast from the past from our Red Mountain Expeditions.....

I remember one big rock did some serious air time before logging into that gully..

So glad we had those times...

So much good motor sport history on the Net.

At the moment I am getting a "free" preview of REV TV Canada in my Cable package.
For the most part our CDN television hardly covers anything here, F1 in Montreal and the odd road race back East. In BC here, Motorsport is a bad word. What at treat to get WRC, MotoGP, IMSA and many other great race series. The preview lasts till end of JUlY, not sure if I will sign up

That we lost our Westwood race track was such a shame, lack of visionary's and Dollars.

I first ran Knox Mountain in 1982, got the major adrenaline rush and promised myself I would beat the Peter Baljet LG73 car who placed first that year. I concentrated on Solo, to get my championships and then focused on Knox after 1991, surviving 14 Hillclimbs without a scratch.

here is a snippet of todays line up.... https://www.revtv.ca/watch/schedule

Thanks for that video!
