I have received your test.

yee haw

it is about a different issue but thank you for the ack.

maybe I should ask the question here though - how many people with build threads here try to post photos from their phone but find that their photos get rejected because of the file size?

On my I10, I have the option of resizing the photos and that works..

If adding photos, you can’t do the quick reply.

Hit the reply button
Insert text, if any
Below text box in Add Attachments, select album you want to pull photos from
Select your or photo
At the bottom of the screen you’ll have the option of Select Photo Size
Choose small to large
Click done and your back to the attachments box - enter text pertaining to that specific photo is you like

You also have the option of placing the photo into you text - which is nice if you want to place photos inside the text on that particular post to make it more like a magazine colum.

The problem seems to be image resizing. The photos need to be reduced to 250 kB or smaller to post- a limit had to be made to save server size, the realm does pay for this space and it keeps getting bigger every year!
If working from the PC, you will have to use a free download called Image Resizer.
This used to be an addition tool built into Windows Power Toys, it years ago when MS moved beyond the XP OS, it was not longer available from MS, it that didn’t stop lots of smart guys making it work on newer OS’s. It a free download that works on the latest OS’s, and it embeds itself right in the right click drop down menu and with one click convers a 2 meg photo to a 50-200mb photo right there in the same file. Works slick.

These posts were done from my i10, it generally when posting on a thread, I prefer a keyboard. But I’m old fashioned, most people today use their phones.whatever turns your crank - they both work fairly well.and I’m no techie at all ...

Hope this helps.

Apple phone users...

As usual, apple phones Seem to have one option that photo makers miss - the photo orientation when taking the shot initially. If the orientation isn’t correct when you take the photo, then when you post it, it won’t be orientated correctly - is the photos rotated 90 degrees, or it’s sideways ... etc.

This is easily done when quickly snapping a shot, and I’m unsure if there is an easy fix on the phone. On the pc, it’s dead easy to rotate and save a photo, then link it to your post. There me always a way I guess. Depends what your into.

Cam, I’d love to see your build posted here - you and Sue have done a crazy amount of metal work on that wagon, and it’d be awesome to have it documented here.

I can not recal the last photo I managed to post here, not easy at all.

I spend a bunch of time on another forum and it’s dead easy to upload or just hit copy and then paste it right in the thread, so obviously it depends on the software the forum runs on.

Jason, was the photo too big in your case?

Or was the photo at 250kb and there’s another issue?

We’ve heard this problem before, it seems to work for some, but not others.
What’s everyone else’s experience - especially those have troubles posting photos. I’m certainly not a tech guy, but it would be nice if we could find the problem and make posting photos easy for everyone. Maybe it’s possible to build in the image resizer. I don’t know, but let’s try to get to the bottom of it and ‘Make the 510 Realm Great Again!’ :-)

not from a phone of course, I have no problem with IMAGE RESIZER

https://www.bricelam.net/ImageResizer/

I think Spencer let me keep my photos up to about 750 Kb, the resizer is quick and parks the resized picture right next to the original, where I just then "insert' into the Realm.

There are four options and you can do custom sizing.

not sure of that helps at all, I don't have a smart phone of course, so I'm sure that presents it's own issue.

I have no problem posting from my phone. I just resize it to under 700M and it works just fine.
