Nice car and a very good place to sell. Though they have really put unrealistic expectations on buyers, selling you can get 10%-20% over market value. I sold my very rusty northeast Dodge Power Wagon for easily 30% more than what I would have gotten locally. GLWS.

Thanks! I have bought a couple are on BaT, and sold a few. I think it's a great place for what they call "price discovery"... the market ultimately speaks as to what it's worth: which is whatever someone will pay for it!

Oh well, it did not meet reserve (although the high bidder still may want the car). For now, I'll keep enjoying it and improving it!

Nope, the high bidder is still in touch with me though and he's looking at another car. He'd need to come up quite a bit from his last bid, and he is willing to do that, but not until he exhausts a few other options he's looking at, apparently. We shall see!

BaT can be unpredictable... I looked again at the auction. No real activity at the end, which is a killer. You always need at least two motivated bidders. I've got two more cars going on soon I hope, and will have fingers crossed for some good activity. You had a good listing and answered all the questions. You just needed someone else willing to bid. I'd think that is worth low to mid 20s easily but the market does feel like it is declining a bit.

Exactly, all you need is two motivated bidders! I've had pretty good luck with other BaT auctions. The high bidder definitely told me he was ready to go to at least $20K, and I was hoping for just a bit more (I agree with your value assessment), but nobody bid against him so he wasn't required to go any higher. Sometimes you just get a bad week (mine was during Monterey Car week, could be good or bad!), but my take is that BaT is a bit saturated and many cars are going RNM or selling lower than expected. Good luck with yours, fingers crossed for at least 2 good bidders!

My car is BACK on Bring-a-Trailer at NO RESERVE! Last time around, I got a top bid that was short of reserve but the top bidder decided not to make me any other offer (or even do the high bid). So, she's back on at no reserve and may not even make it back to the level last time. Who knows, but someone is going home with this beauty!
