What did you do on your 510 today?
Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
that sucks....
I was across from Tracey this weekend at mission and she was saying they're about 7 mos back..
then Andy tells me he can probably gain 30hp setting my cams in the racecar since I'm not using the SIR.. guess I know where my cars going over the winter..

I drove mine today. First time ever! I've had it over 8 years now too. Lots to sort but a huge milestone today.

It must feel exceptionally good after all this time.KiKiIchiBan wrote: ↑19 Aug 2022 13:39 I drove mine today. First time ever! I've had it over 8 years now too. Lots to sort but a huge milestone today.

I wish it did, it should have but it was more terrifying than anything I only went up and down the street I live on but the brakes were terrible, I think it's a combination of new parts needing bedding in and the booster not being connected as I can't find the adapter and 1 way valve needed. The steering was all over the place too but I only did a quick at home alignment.510rob wrote: ↑19 Aug 2022 16:47It must feel exceptionally good after all this time.KiKiIchiBan wrote: ↑19 Aug 2022 13:39 I drove mine today. Nobody will recognize you now!!
Look forward to seeing some trackside photos.
Seems we both have nearly the same colour race cars now!

thumbs up for the swoopy stripes!

Honestly, I'd like my car to be cleared of all decals aside from the numbers. I like that clean look. No one is paying me for the rest anyways.
I do like your colour scheme. I'd like to take my back to a retro one, but that's way down the list of needs.

I finally got the L20 b outside and did some refreshing up on her so I can get her put together and make some rom on the bench. It was sent to the machine shop way back and I have all of what I need now after forever I’m going to get her together. It will be my first time assembling a L20 b even after sitting covered inside the shop it all looks good. Now gotta get some paint and tape.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
I was going to take it for a drive as I had a few hours free in-between life commitments, started up with ease, idled nicely then died and refused to start. No spark. Multimeter battery flat, no d-cells in the house, shops shut. No blown fuses, maybe the ignition module went bad. Very frustrating. Actually considering selling it, do not have any free time and when I do, I don't want to be working on the car, I want to be driving it.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
I feel your pain and frustration!!!!
I have spent a life time literally working on cars since I was 14. I just want to drive my 510 and when the head gasket finally went,
in the spring, I must admit I was quite devastated! I get the old car thing, time on my motor, but, now I have to wrench on it over the winter.
While I guess that is a good thing to tiddly it up and have some reliability, it sure was NOT on my retirement list.
Come to Vancouver and I will take you on a good hike into the mountains!
We can both forget our woes for a few hours.

Just breath Kiki, no point selling after all the heavy lifting is done, they are old cars and need to be persuaded...I know right now that doesn’t help.
Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
On page 9 of your thread (HERE), there are some pictures of your distributor... What kind of distributor setup is that? It looks like it might be a modified 280ZX Turbo distributor - what guts are in it and what ignitor module?KiKiIchiBan wrote: ↑18 Sep 2022 11:26 I was going to take it for a drive as I had a few hours free in-between life commitments, started up with ease, idled nicely then died and refused to start.
